SHIFT — The Experience brings together nine inspiring, interactive sessions, six delicious meals, and a unique, reflective off-site excursion into the desert.

The nine sessions are hosted at CYBER, in its new, state-of-the-art training facility in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Led by Jason Daniel Hood (SHIFT) and Rachel Frost, MIOP, SHRM-CP (Know Better, Do Better Coaching), SHIFT — The Experience is designed with the belief that how you lead matters. Regardless of role or responsibility within a company, the sessions and conversations developed for these three days were crafted with the desire to help anyone elevate how they lead and support the people around them, learn better ways to communicate and give clear feedback and direction, and leave with the guidance for how to train others in ways to provide gracious accountability.

Owner & Presenter · SHIFT

Jason’s background is rooted in leadership training and development, conflict resolution, and communication. After almost 20 years in New York City, he moved to Arizona in July 2021 to “just do life” with some of his closest friends. That fall he joined CYBER, a Scottsdale home technology integration company already known across the industry for its strong culture, as its first Employee Experience Manager — building the company’s training curriculum from the ground up, with an emphasis on genuine care for the employees.

He became Director of Employee Experience the following year and, in 2024, CYBER’s CXO (Chief Experience Officer), while speaking at conferences and visiting like-minded companies across the country. In the summer of 2025 he began building SHIFT: an invitation for business leaders and teams to shift how they view leadership, collaboration, and culture.

The Sessions

Nine sessions.

01 The Gift of Authenticity: Discovering a New Leadership Voice Jason Daniel Hood

More than ever, people are craving authentic voices and nowhere is that more evident than in business. The most authentic leaders, peers, and team members are not the ones who have all the answers — they’re the ones showing up asking better questions, different questions — questions that encourage others to rethink and try again, questioning what they know, not their worth or value. The mistakes make the lessons, and the lessons should drive change. Authentic leaders create an environment where people want to contribute because they don’t just feel valued, they are valued.

02 Leadership Beyond Resilience Rachel Frost

Change demands more than simply bouncing back. Leaders must also protect their own well-being and mental health while remaining grounded through uncertainty, pressure, and growth. This session explores how to build the capacity to navigate discomfort with greater clarity, make thoughtful decisions in challenging moments, and lead others forward without sacrificing personal sustainability.

03 The Art of Gracious Accountability Jason Daniel Hood

There’s a built-in negativity around holding others accountable because we often see it as confrontation, not conversation. Great employees want, expect, and deserve accountability — that’s how growth happens. This session equips everyone with a roadmap and the tools to hold others accountable, graciously. When approached with care and a focus on development, conversations once labeled “difficult” become simply “necessary.”

04 The Human Advantage: Empathy, Curiosity, and the Courage to Lead Rachel Frost

As technology accelerates, the ability to understand and effectively lead people becomes an even greater competitive advantage. This session reframes empathy not as a “soft skill,” but as a practical leadership capability. Explore how curiosity, clear boundaries, and high expectations can create the conditions for stronger relationships, better decisions, and sustainable performance.

05 The Secret to High-Performing Teams Rachel Frost

What separates teams that merely function from those that innovate, adapt, and consistently outperform expectations? Often, it comes down to whether individuals feel safe enough to speak candidly, challenge assumptions, surface risks, and learn from mistakes. In this session, leaders will explore practical ways to encourage healthy debate, uncover problems sooner, and create an environment where innovation, accountability, and execution can thrive.

06 Empowering Gracious Accountability: Tools for Teaching the Art of Gracious Accountability Jason Daniel Hood

Teaching can require you to be part instructor, part storyteller — all while being fully present. It comes more naturally to some than it does to others, but it isn’t magic. In this session, the roadmap laid out in The Art of Gracious Accountability is peeled back in a train-the-trainer fashion. Your life experiences added to the mix are what can make a “necessary” conversation more impactful, and this session will show you some ways to do just that.

07 Feedback That Fuels Growth Rachel Frost

In fast-moving businesses, delayed feedback becomes an expensive problem. Small misalignments grow, strong performers miss opportunities to develop, and difficult conversations become even harder. This session positions feedback as a real-time leadership discipline for improving execution, developing talent, and strengthening alignment. Leaders will learn practical ways to deliver feedback people can act on, receive input without becoming defensive, and turn challenging conversations into forward movement.

08 Communication By Design: Driving the Business, Leading the Team by Your Words & Actions Jason Daniel Hood

Frank Lloyd Wright’s mentor, Louis Sullivan, famously said of design, “form follows function.” In communication, the same principle exists — the shape of your message should express its purpose. Looking to the world of design… balance, contrast, repetition… this session will invite you to look at communication and leadership differently. Personally and professionally, what is the foundation of communication? How are we misunderstood by the people who know us the best or the longest? Are your peers or colleagues committed to misunderstanding you, or does the structure and ways you communicate work against you being heard and understood?

09 Care is Your Currency: Defining Characteristics of a Whole-Hearted Leader Jason Daniel Hood

Everything you do — and don’t do — shapes those around you. It’s how you’re remembered and how your leadership is measured. Inspired by 15 Heartfelt Characteristics of a Great Leader from Melissa Reiff, former CEO and President of The Container Store, this brand-new session is rooted in the belief that how you lead matters. These characteristics explore the care-driven traits and emotional DNA of great leaders, encouraging you to run the business with your mind and lead the team with your heart.

Before you register

Questions worth asking.

Who is this for?

Anyone who leads people, whatever the title says. The sessions were built so that role and seniority don’t determine what you get out of them — a first-time supervisor and a twenty-year executive are both in the room on purpose.

What does the $4,000 actually cover?

Event registration, all nine sessions, your hotel room at the Hilton Garden Inn, Scottsdale North, six conference meals plus snacks throughout, transportation during the event, a unique, reflective off-site excursion into the desert, and event swag and gifts. Getting to Scottsdale is the only part you arrange.

Dietary needs or accessibility requirements?
